GT products now in the US
Posted By: SarahG - 8:05 AM
PROUDLY Cebu-made products of GT Cosmetics Manufacturing are now being distributed in the United States.
This was announced by GT Cosmetics founder and national sales manager Engr. Leonora B. Salvane, who has been planning to expand their market overseas after their successful entry to Europe in 2011.
“The Finland deal in Europe was unexpected, so I thought we would eventually get into the US market in God’s time,” Salvane said. “And so with divine providence, GT products are now available in the US. Nothing is impossible if you have faith.”
The entry of GT Cosmetics is also timely, added Salvane, as a lot of Filipinos in the US have been asking online if GT products are available in America.
GT Cosmetics products are being distributed in the US by Elegantly Pure and are now available at New Asia Market and Pearl Marketing in Connecticut and at the Chinese-American Mini Market in Rhode Island.
“We will introduce GT to the American public by giving samples during festivals and celebrations in each of the 50 states,” said Salvane, adding that they are now in the process of getting a certification that their products are in accordance with the US standards.
Since it was founded in 1994, GT Cosmetics has slowly captured its market initially by word of mouth and lately through social media – or “peer to peer” marketing -- that miraculously made its products among the sought-after brands in the country today.
GT Cosmetics products can be purchased in about 200 retail outlets including Watsons Personal Care stores, Robinsons supermarkets, SM malls and supermarkets, Savemore supermarkets, Gaisano Metro chain of stores, as well as in other leading malls, department stores, supermarkets, and in all leading drugstores nationwide.

Globe launches inbound calling offer for Koreans in the Philippines
Posted By: SarahG - 8:46 PM
Known for innovative and ground-breaking products and services, Globe Telecom recently launched Globe DUO Korea, an international inbound calling offer for Koreans in the Philippines.
Seated in the center are Rizza Maniego-Eala, Globe Telecom’s Group Head for International Business and Yong Chul Kwon, INY’s Chief Executive Officer, with managers from both companies. |
Globe DUO Korea is a service that allows a Globe or TM subscriber to purchase a Korea-based telephone number. Their friends and family back home can call their Korea-based telephone number and calls will be received in their Globe or TM phones. Calls can now made between two Korea-based numbers, just like making a local call in Korea, resulting to significant savings.
Subscription to the service comes in two variants: The seven-day subscription for only P399 or US$10 is best for short-term visitors, tourists or businessmen, while the 30-day subscription for only P999 or US$25 will fully satisfy the communication needs of students, migrants and Koreans with established businesses in the Philippines.
“Now, seamless and low-cost connectivity with Korea simply needs a Globe or TM SIM and a Globe DUO Korea subscription,” explains Rizza Maniego-Eala, Group Head for Globe International Business. “The best part is that subscribers no longer need to schedule receiving calls when they are home and have access to their internet-based landline services since calls are received through the mobile phone anytime, anywhere,” she added.
This service is made possible through the partnership of Globe with INY Communications, a total telecommunications business which provides clients with wholesale and retail international calling services.
“We are excited to partner with Globe, the most preferred telecom service provider of the Korean community in the Philippines, in offering Globe DUO Korea," said John C. Kwon, CEO of INY. "Our experience in selling international calling services together with Globe’s reliable service will be a powerful combination to ensure that customers’ calling needs are exceeded."
In addition, Globe also partnered with Onfill, a Philippine country portal site in Korea, operated by Saehoon Air Travel Co., Ltd., the official General Sales Agent in South Korea of one of the Philippines’ biggest airlines. Onfill has the largest sales channel—over 4,000 travel agents nationwide—and provides 27 flights per week to the country with thousands of Korean tourists.
“Our access to numerous travel agencies in South Korea as well as thousands of Korean tourists will ensure that travellers to the Philippines are well-informed of Globe DUO Korea even before they leave the country,” said Starsky Park, Planning Department Director of Saehoon.
Moreover, in a recent contract signing ceremony held at the Korean Embassy in Bonifacio Global City, Globe partnered with the United Korean Community Association in the Philippines (UKCA), the umbrella organization of all Korean associations in the country, to further its goal of reaching out to one of the biggest foreign communities in the Philippines.
“Globe, being a major partner, gives us the assurance that our plans for the local Korean community are supported by one of the Philippines’ largest companies,” said Jang Il Lee, UKCA President. “Their effort to reach out to our community is well-received and appreciated,” added Lee.
Korean Ambassador to the Philippines Lee Hyuk, in his congratulatory message during the contract signing ceremony between UKCA and Globe, said “the patronage of Koreans in the Philippines in Globe signifies our trust in the excellent standards of your network. In addition, I am optimistic that more Koreans will patronize Globe, given its people-oriented service. This partnership will also play a crucial role in deepening the cultural understanding between our two peoples.”
“Globe DUO Korea is a testament to our continued efforts to introduce innovative products in the market to provide our subscribers with superior service,” Maniego-Eala said.

Postpaid subscriber base nearing 2 million
Led by its fully-customizable postpaid plans and the most competitive smartphone offers, Globe Telecom’s postpaid business sustained momentum with double-digit growth in subscriber base and revenues in the first quarter of 2013, with postpaid customer base nearing 2 million.
As of end-March 2013, Globe postpaid subscribers totaled 1.9 million, a 21% increase from previous year’s 1.5 million with gross acquisitions soaring to a record-high of over 205,000 in the first quarter, up 35% and 40% against the same period last year and last quarter, respectively. Net postpaid additions also increased to a quarterly high of over 122,000 during the period, surpassing last year’s level by 44% and last quarter’s performance by 71%.
The segment likewise showed outstanding growth in service revenues after posting P6.0 billion in revenues during the same period, up 14% from P5.3 billion in the previous year. Postpaid service revenues in 1Q 2013 account for 35% of total mobile revenues, up from 32% in 1Q12.
“With successive quarters of growth in subscriber base and revenues, Globe Postpaid continues to provide solid contribution to the company’s overall mobile business,” said Martha Sazon, Head of Globe Postpaid. “Postpaid customers have become more discerning over the years as they look for offers that are relevant and give them value for money. So when it comes to postpaid, subscribers choose Globe and stay with Globe.”
Keeping momentum to grow its postpaid segment in the second quarter of the year, Globe strengthened partnerships with device manufacturers and offered the best smartphone deals. The telco gained exclusivity to carry the new BlackBerry Z10 LTE under its suite of unlimited surfing plans that provide subscribers with unlimited LTE surfing of up to 42 Mbps. The BlackBerry Z10 LTE is available for as low as P1799 monthly over a 30-month contract or P1999 monthly over a 24-month contract.
In April, Globe unveiled the Samsung Galaxy S4 and offered the newest Galaxy smartphone for as low as P1,599 monthly under the best-ever Globe My Super Plan 999 with P600 monthly cashout over a 24-month contract period, giving customers the most affordable and competitive device bundle offer in the market today. Under this best-ever offer, subscribers get unlimited LTE surfing of up to 42 Mbps plus free calls and texts.
In conjunction with its device launches, Globe further upped the ante in postpaid with the launch of the best-ever My Super Plan, where subscribers get more than what they pay for with postpaid plans now bundled with peso value amounts that are almost double the plan value. The peso value amount can be allocated among combos in the form of call, text, and surfing services, consumable amount, and gadgets. Subscribers also have the flexibility to choose their contract periods ranging from 6 months to 30 months.
With its breakthrough and revolutionary offers, Globe My Super Plan was awarded as the Most Innovative Telecom Project in the 16th Telecom Asia Awards, besting telco products from Japan, Singapore, Korea, and Indonesia to win the much-coveted award given to an innovative project with the biggest impact in the market.

Globe Telecom connects with tech-savvy teens
Posted By: SarahG - 8:24 PM
Some 23 high-school tech-savvy teens looking for worthwhile summer activity are getting their chance under Globe Telecom’s Junior Wizard program, which is expected to provide them valuable experiences and skills.
Pioneered in 2012, the Junior Mobile Wizard Program is a six-week summer program offered to Globe employees’ high school children, who will be assisting in selected Globe concept stores in Metro Manila.
Under the program, these high school students are tasked to demonstrate and discuss the latest gadgets and mobile data services, as well as other Globe offers and services. It provides an opportunity for them to learn outside of a campus setting as they interact with customers and gain experience working inside a Globe store.
“Because technology is so integrated in a teenager’s life, we believe that the program is a great opportunity for them to learn important social and entrepreneurial skills. We would like to capitalize in their immense interest in technology for them to experience a summer activity which we hope will teach them important lessons in life. Since they will be working alongside their parents’ colleagues, they will have a taste of how Globe promotes an engaging and satisfying work culture,” said Globe Telecom President and CEO Ernest Cu.
The program exhibits the Globe Way vision of transforming the lives of people, said Cu, adding the company is confident this year’s program will replicate the program’s success last year.
The summer program began with a three-day training ending with an actual in-store immersion at the Globe concept store in Greenbelt 4.
High school students visit Globe Telecom’s concept store in Greenbelt 4 as part of their training under the company’s Junior Mobile Wizard program. |
The students were assigned in 6 Globe stores located in Metro Manila, Cebu and Davao.

CEBUANA LHUILLIER LINKS WITH FEDERAL PHOENIX FOR CTPL ISSUANCE AND CLAIMS PROCESSING
Posted By: SarahG - 2:07 AMWorry no more on fake CTPLs and delayed claims processing!
Bound
by a common vision of bringing insurance closer to the Filipinos and hasten
vehicle registration at the Land Transportation Office (LTO), major motorcar
insurer Federal Phoenix Assurance Co. (FPAC) embarked on a
groundbreaking partnership with the leading microinsurance agency Cebuana Lhuillier Insurance Solutions
(CLIS), insurance arm of the country’s largest pawnshop chain Cebuana Lhuillier, through the Cebuana Compulsory Third Party Liability
(CTPL) Insurance or Cebuana CTPL.
CLIS, through
its vast array of insurance products underwritten by the insurance industry’s
major players , continuously looks for ways to provide quality protection at affordable premiums. FPAC, one
of the country’s dominant insurers known for its solid claims reputation and
expertise in automation, has established the connectivity with the LTO and
other agencies to successfully decentralize CTPL policy issuance. Together,
FPAC and CLIS are poised to finally end the woes of motorists in obtaining CTPL
policies and difficulty in claims processing through the Cebuana CTPL.
Whether
it’s a month away before LTO registration is due, or beating the clock on the very
last day for LTO registration, vehicle owners can now renew their CTPL policies
conveniently and without worry. They can simply drop by the nearest Cebuana
Lhuillier pawnshop and bring a copy of the LTO certificate of registration (CR)
together with the official receipt (OR). CTPL insurance renewal just takes a few
minutes. In fact, Cebuana Lhuillier’s network makes the entire renewal process much
faster and hassle-free because there is always a Cebuana branch nearby.
And there’s
more. Insurance claimants with Cebuana
CTPL can now file their claims at any Cebuana Lhuillier branch by just
submitting valid and complete claims documents for quick claims processing!
The innovative
web-based technology developed by Federal Phoenix, the first of its kind in the
insurance industry, makes filing
claims easy and seamless. Complementing
FPAC’s state-of-the-art claims technology is Cebuana Lhuillier’s superior
connectivity with its claims management system integrated in its entire branch network.
Upon receipt of the electronic copies of the claims documents by any Cebuana
outlet, Federal Phoenix is promptly notified about the claim, thus expediting
the claims process. This electronic
claims settlement eliminates the slow and costly handling of documents which
substantially improves claims turn-around time.
Lastly,
the Cebuana CTPL fosters nation-building
as the proliferation of fake CTPLs will be reduced, if not eliminated, thus
ensuring the appropriation of right premium taxes to the government. Fake CTPLs issued by fly-by-night insurance
companies has cost the government to lose millions of premium taxes to the
detriment of the insuring public.
